There are times when I'd like to waste time playing on my tablet but I'm too lazy to move my fingers tapping. To be totally honest, I feel too lazy right now. But for your convenience I'll make an effort and present to you a game in which you have very little to do.

Rugged Rovers is a game about designing an exploration rover that can handle itself on... rugged terrain. You start by positioning the engine on a drawing board. You then draw a frame around it and finally place wheels on the extremities (preferably). Finally you drop it on a broken surface filled with small crevasses, broken ramps and loose sand.

The rover will run on itself but you can monitor and engage emergency functions if there's any danger of getting stuck. There are two timed thrusters, one underneath it and another on its back. These burn for a limited time, and then need a minute or so to recharge. The point of it all is to make your rover go as far as it can, until it gets stuck for too long or the battery on your device fails.

The best rover design is in the spotlight each day. That's about it.

Conclusion

There's quite a bit of potential here. Rugged Rovers looks more like a concept than a game, but with some added features, like being able to save and modify designs, getting extra controls or generating specific terrain, this game can become quite fun. So far it is simply a promising idea up for grabs by anyone who wants to make a game out of it.
